Cleveland State University unveils 3 new collection Web sites

Cleveland State University has unveiled three new online collections created using DiMeMa's CONTENTdm software. These collections are part of The Cleveland Memory Project developed by Special Collections at the Cleveland State University Library.

Cleveland Press Shakespeare Photographs: 1870-1982
Approximately 400 images from the plays of William Shakespeare on stage, screen, television, opera and ballet. Images are from publicity photographs featuring production companies in the Ohio region and Canada; New York stage productions; motion pictures; and several highly praised televised series.

Notable Blacks of Cleveland
Approximately 2000 images of 500 individuals selected from the photographs in the Cleveland Press Collection. This collection was donated to the Cleveland State University Library when that newspaper ceased publication in 1982. The photographs in the collection generally date from the 1920's on with most from 1960 to 1982.

Postcards of Cleveland
A comprehensive collection of Cleveland postcards, numbering nearly 8,000 with the earliest dating from 1898. Highlights include several 32 inch long panoramas of Cleveland, and major people in Cleveland's popular history. The collection belongs to Walter Leedy, a Professor of Medieval Art, Architecture and Urbanism at Cleveland State University.
