Editing CONTENTdm Web Templates
To edit Web Templates:
Locate the docs directory on the CONTENTdm Server. The HTML and script files for the CONTENTdm Web Templates are located here. Open the files you wish to edit in your HTML editing software, such as MacroMedia HomeSite or BBEdit. If you do not have HTML editing software, open the files in Notepad.
Edit the following HTML files to make text changes to the Web Templates:
- index.html to make text changes to the home page of the collection.
- about.html to make text changes to the page that describes the collection.
- help.html to make text changes to the help pages.
Edit the script files in the client directory to change the appearance of your collection Web site. The path is docs/site-templates/client.
- basic.js—enables rudimentary changes to the Web Templates. Open this file to add your organization name or collection name, logo, e-mail address, and copyright information.
- style.js—edit this script file to make changes to color, font, and layout of the collection pages. You should be familiar with HTML before making changes to this file.
- localization.js—edit this file to change text in the Web Templates to another language.
