Compound Object Creator

Before you begin: Users of Version 3.6 and greater also have the option to use the Batch Add wizard to create compound objects. This provides a more streamlined process than using the Compound Object Creator (formerly the Compound Object Editor) to create compound objects.

Users of Version 3.5 or earlier must continue to use the Compound Object Creator (formerly the Compound Object Editor) to create compound objects.

The CONTENTdm Compound Object Creator allows you to group related items together—such as pages in a book, text and images, post cards, or multiple views of an object—to form multi-page documents, two-sided images, or 6-sided picture cubes.

Begin creating compound objects by uploading items from the Acquisition Station to the pending queue where they can be approved and added to a collection by the Collection Administrator. Once approved items are added to the collection, open the Compound Object Creator to search for and select the images that will comprise your compound object. Each image or item that is to become part of the compound object must reside in the same collection.

Once a compound object is created, it, too, must be uploaded to the pending queue, where the Collection Administrator can approve it, add the compound object to the collection, and build the text index.
